Status represents the current status of the entire case at this time. The only options here are:

* New - which shows that the case has just been created and has not been assigned yet.

* Open - shows that the case is being worked on, or that it has not been resolved and closed. This field will be automatically set to open as soon as the case has been assigned to an individual analyst or developer Owner.

* Closed - shows that no further actions are required for this case. It is present for archive and reporting purposes at this point, and no other updates should be needed.

* Hold - shows that this case is pending some other action or event. Looking in the case notes will likely tell the person tracking this case why it is in a hold status (roll of clock, pending the closure of another issue, et cetera). Note that once this is toggled, you have to input a hold reason. Most hold issues will be placed in the Internal Status Instead.
Rework should not be used as a case status. Rework is the only way that a closed case can be re-opened.
