Complete a Statement of Work (SOW) |
|
| An SOW provides high-level information including scope, business need and resource requirements. This information aids in the determination of the project's strategic fit within the corporation as well as the priority level among other projects. If you need assistance with the SOW, contact your Business Area Manager (BAM). |

Submit the completed SOW |
|
| Submit the completed SOW to the Prioritization Steering Team (PST) member representing your Business Area (see link below). The PST member will review the SOW and determine whether the Project Request should be submitted to the Business Area Manager (BAM) for a high-level scoping analysis. |

Project or Work Order determination |
|
BET will conduct a high-level scoping analysis to determine whether the project will require more than 200 IT hours to complete.
- If greater than 200 IT hours, the Project Request must go to the PST for approval and prioritization. Go to STEP 4.
- If less than 200 IT hours, then it becomes a Work Order. Skip to STEP 5.
|
Definitions:
- IT Hours - Development and test hours consumed by IT employees (Infrastructure and Applications), including contractors and consultants.
- Project - new development or enhancement work requiring greater than 200 IT hours.
- Work Order - new development or enhancement work requiring less than 200 IT hours.

PST "Project Opportunities List" |
|
| The PST member from your area is responsible for getting the project request onto the PST "Opportunities List" for review at the next PST meeting (quarterly). Proposals on this list are reviewed and prioritized then the "Top 5" are approved as projects. |

Work Orders and the Change Control Board (CCB) |
|
| If it has been determined that the project will require less than 200 IT hours, then it will become a Work Order. Work Orders are submitted on-line through the EDS Help Desk and are then routed to each Business Area's CCB. The CCB will review and prioritize all Work Orders for their area. |
